Double check with thrift shops online

When people are comfortable buying second-hand items, thieves have learned to take advantage of the situation. It could be your car or bike, for instance. In such a case, you can visit online shops such as eBay that allow the selling of used goods and try to find them. In case you spot it, relax and think of a wise move. You can join the auction and bid for the item, then liaise with the authorities during collection to go and pick it.

Reporting to the authorities

For example, it is a delicate situation where someone probably has stolen your bank account cards or identity cards, kindly report the matter. The police can liaise with the necessary parties on your behalf, and retrieve your cards and catch the thief.

For example, if it is your bank card, the police can work with the bank and trace where the last transaction took place. They can also wait for a signal for the next transaction and catch the thief in the act. The criminal could use your card to commit a crime if you got your card stolen. If you report, the criminal can be caught and charged in court. Both cases fall under identity theft or impersonation, which guarantees the criminal some years in prison.
